WHARICK and his men continued to walk along the main path inside the Surchin forest, Breccan and Gunnar at the back.

“I thought we were going west?” Breccan quietly asked Gunnar.

Darius turned his head slightly as he walked. “You know we can hear you, right Brec?”

“Well I sure as hell wasn’t going to question him again.” Breccan pointed to Wharick’s back. “It’s just that he hasn’t spoken for awhile and it’s just...unsettling, and it’s kinda freaking me out.”

Wharick, who right at this moment was heading toward the forest’s center, slowed and tilted his head slightly to the side as if concentrating. And he was. He was trying to use his senses to find her. He knew they were on the right path.

“We are going toward the center. There are Gwarda there as well,” Wharick finally addressed the men.
